The 24th edition of the Bol D’or which took place on May 16^th in Grandson on the Lake of Neuchâtel was a complete success! Thanks to the excellent weather conditions, the regatta was very impressive since 12 of the sailboats broke the previous record.

Congratulations to the winners “Team Parmigiani” and “Geneva 18 Footer Sailing Team”, each in their own category.

Do you feel like becoming a successful designer? Or are you simply a watch lover?

Catamaran Swiss Watches is launching a “Watch design contest” open to everyone. The objective of this competition is to design the “Sport watch of tomorrow” as you imagine it or you would like it . All shapes, sizes, functions and materials can be suggested. Creativity has no limit!

 Participants can submit their drawings with detailed explanations (functions, materials, etc.) to catamaran@catamaran.ch in JPG or PDF format, no later than 30 September 2010. Please make sure that your file does not exceed 500 ko.

A committee inside our Company will select the best drawing/ideas which will be published on our website in October, and the winner will be personally contacted and receive a Catamaran watch as the winning prize.

Once again, Catamaran Swiss watches will be co-sponsoring the coming 24th edition of the Bol d'Or Regatta which will take place on May 16th and 17th in Grandson (Lake of Neuchâtel).

Although this regatta is typically amateur, it is always a very highly organized and formally structured event. So, don't miss it!

As per the figures provided by the organizers, the overall attendance was better than last year, although the atmosphere was still a little tense as many markets did not show any signs of recovery yet.

However, some positive signs emerged indicating and confirming what started to be felt during the last quarter that in some specific markets, the trends stopped to decline and the demand was starting to be back in the shops.

On the product side, once again many novelties were introduced by most of the companies including Catamaran Swiss Watches and many more, still to come, will be presented within the next few months.

The slow down of the economy did not reduce the pace of the R&D in developing new products and even more effort will be concentrate in that field to support the markets and the shops .

The 23rd edition of the Henry-Lloyd Bol d’Or took place on May 16^th on the Lake of Neuchâtel. This year particularly, many Catamarans M2 and M3 were on the departure line.

It was not very windy on that day, however, the racers offered a great show to the spectators, showing all their abilities and competences.

With the overall financial situation, this year’s Baselworld was a big question mark for all the Swiss watch manufactures, not knowing what to expect from the retail market situation.

The results showed that fewer visitors came to the Fair and the one that made the trip stayed a shorter period than usual.

On the figures’ side, for the first time in many years, a drop on the orders was felt, resulting from several leading markets that faced a sizeable drop in the last quarter of 2008 as well as in the first quarter of 2009.
